As Instinct members, you may well have heard the word ‘Enigma’ mentioned over the last few months but aren’t yet sure what the connection is. Here is everything you need to know about Enigma, its involvement with Instinct and how it benefits you…

Who is Enigma?

Instinct Gym and Wellbeing is part of Enigma Wellness, which in turn is part of Enigma Holdings Group. Some of the Enigma team you may know well anyway through training (for example Peter George and Duncan Akin) and Enigma provided the funding to Dan Jones and the Instinct team to get our lovely new facility at 78 High Street up and running! It was Pete’s and Dan’s collective vision some years ago, which led to the idea of a brand-new health and wellbeing facility in the centre of Tarporley and Instinct is just the start of an exciting new wellness journey.

Enigma Holdings is an investment company that looks to drive growth in partnered companies specialising in Health, Wellbeing, Sport, Learning, Community and Housing. Its current portfolio includes the 59 Club, Rentplus, Enoksen, Instinct, Enigma Digital, Crowd Network, Enigma Legal, Hello Health and last but certainly not least Enigma Wellness

Who are the Enigma Wellness team?

The Enigma Wellness team is based at 76 High Street (right next door) and includes Tony Westbrook (Chair), Duncan Akin (MD), Niki Fieldhouse (Marketing and Project Manager), Jemima Cope (Clinical Lead), Dan Jones (Corporate Wellbeing), Hayley Jones (Wellness Admin Assistant) and three newly appointed health advisors – Oscar Malik, Seb Apter and Bryn Wallnau. The latter three you may have met in the gym as they have been getting involved helping the Instinct trainers with sessions! Two other familiar Instinct faces – Cath Chang and Krista Harris – are now also part of the Enigma family and will be providing marketing and PR/Comms support moving forward. Cath will also continue to run Fuel, alongside Carolyn Humberstone.

Our health advisors.

What does Enigma Wellness do?

For Instinct members, Enigma Wellness is best known for operating the treatment rooms upstairs at 78 High Street. Jemima and Niki are in charge of a fantastic team of clinicians and consultants including Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Sports Massage Therapist, Surgeons, Nutritionist, Aesthetic Practitioner and private GPs.

Enigma Wellness is also busy fitting out a unit at Portal Business Park near Eaton, so that it has sufficient treatment rooms to widen its offer to include, for example, mental health counsellors, beauty treatments, cancer screening, pre-natal services including midwife support and 3D baby scanning, as well as full health assessments.

The vision is that Tarporley becomes a best-in-class support hub for positive physical, social and mental health and wellbeing, creating a blueprint that can be rolled out across the UK. We are so excited that the team has chosen Tarporley for its first ever wellbeing hub and that it is creating jobs and opportunities in the heart of our community.

How does this benefit you?

In the short term, if you have aches, niggles, want to talk to someone about aesthetic treatments or have health concerns, the team at 78 High Street can help! You can privately see a GP or consultant, book massages and treatments or just chat to someone about options and next steps. Jemima and her team are well connected in the medical world and if they can’t help, they may well know someone who can.

In the longer term, Enigma Wellness will be a one-stop-shop for all private health and wellbeing services, as well as offering some free wellbeing services to the community.

The team are also involved in organising fun events such as Brain Race, at Delamere Forest and a family friendly festival called At Ease which is taking place in Suffolk in August – details to follow.

We will also be running a series of talks throughout the year in Flow – all open to Instinct members. The first will take place on the 26 January and focuses on Gut Health, led by in-house nutritionist Saskia Knight. Click here to reserve your ticket.

Please do get involved and if you have any questions at all about Enigma, please ask a member of the team or email info@enigmawellness.co.uk

You are all very much part of this journey to create a leading wellbeing hub in Tarporley and are integral to its success. We can’t wait to tell you more over the coming months….
